How did a scrappy German startup win the meal-kit wars? They activated a robust marketing strategy that included a wide range of channels to achieve market dominance.

The idea was simple: consumers could sign up to receive weekly refrigerated boxes, with pre-portioned ingredients and instructions for cooking. Ebates, the leader in online cash back shopping, wanted to establish itself as the most rewarding shopper loyalty program. And while they were growing by acquiring other companies, they still needed to drive awareness and usage of their program by encouraging consumers to use their tool exclusively for access to coupons, codes, deals, and sales. In partnering with Simon, Ebates, a Rakuten Company, executed a national, multi-market media campaign with Simon to promote the in-store cash back incentive platform and grow new customer acquisitions.
